We are looking for someone to join our sales/layout team as a Layout Engineer. This person will be designing CAD layouts of automated packing integration systems for the fresh produce markets across North America. Posted Position:
This Layout Engineering role is an integral part of our business. In the position, you will be working with our sales/layout team to design and integrate layouts of produce conveyance solutions to serve our markets. This includes working very closely with key supplier partners to develop turn key solutions. A good candidate is someone who is self-motived to get the job done within a given timeframe. In addition, maintaining a high level of detail with the ability to follow a defined set of parameters to meet and exceed the needs of our customers. The Layout Engineer is a pivotal position for Van Doren Sales and we are looking for that specific individual who is hungry, humble, and smart to get the job done well.
Summary:
Interpret, revise and modify plant and equipment layouts, integrating new equipment into both new and existing customers’ facilities
Work with the sales team and customers to develop intergraded mechanical systems to fit the needs of the customer.
Collaborate with a select group of international and domestic equipment providers to incorporate their equipment effectively into an integrated mechanical system.
Assist in developing improved internal processes and standards.
Travel may be required to conduct site surveys and customer visits. Site survey experience a plus
Requirements for this position:
Mechanical Engineering, ME Technology, Drafting or equivalent degree
Strong knowledge of AutoCad- 4+ years experience including plant layouts and layer views
Familiar with working in a plant facility and integrating new equipment into a working environment
Exceptional mechanical aptitude and strong analytical skills
Well-developed communication skills including verbal, written, listening and presentation skills
Outstanding interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment
Strong desire to learn and contribute to the growth of the company
Refined time management skills, high work ethic
Process driven individual
Preferred skills:
Project management experience a plus
Hands on Solidworks experience a plus
