POSITION SUMMARY

Assist Production Manager in the production operation to include all aspects such as; safety, quality, productivity and cost control.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Insure schedule is met for on-time delivery to customer.

Insure products meet customer standards for quality and performance.

Insure safety of personnel and capital equipment.

Maintain and reduce costs as necessary.

Suggest improvements in product quality and cost.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school graduate.

5 years fiberglass experience.

2 years previous supervisory experience.

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Planning of manufacturing environment

Mathematical and written skills

Computer knowledge.

Mechanical knowledge

Awareness of Quality policies and location of quality manuals.

SUPERVISORY ASSISTANT RESPONSIBILITIES

Monitor stock levels of finished product to be sure daily production schedules are what they should be.

Aid in training of new personnel.

Communicate with purchasing to be sure we have all the necessary raw materials and tools/parts we need for production.

Work in production areas to help cover for missing personnel, and insure a smooth flow of product.

Communicate any quality issues or defects we may be experiencing between departments, and help to find a solution.

Help keep production areas supplied with the raw materials they need for daily production when and where they need them.

Check and approve requests for vacation/leave of absence to be sure were not missing too many people on the same day.

Be sure that environmental/safety demands are met. (Labels, filter logs, empty containers, etc.)

Assist in completing the Performance Reviews in a timely manner and review with HR.

Bring to HRs attention required warnings and disciplinary action items.

Assist in reviewing daily punch detail reports for accuracy.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to lift and carry objects weighing as much as 100 lbs.

Be able to spend long periods of time in crouched or bent over position.

Perform tasks requiring repetitive motions for entire shifts.

Be able to hold objects overhead for extended periods of time.

Must have a keen eye/attention to detail.

Must be able to move molds weighing as much as 500 lbs. across uneven surfaces.

Maintain a fast pace for 8-hour shift minimum.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT

Excessive noise

Exposure to fiberglass dust, resin, and gelcoats.

Temperature of work environment can exceed 90 degrees.

Must be prepared to make last minute adjustments according to customers needs.

Workspaces can be very cramped.

Must be able to work whatever hours are necessary to complete daily production requirements.
