This position is located in Yakima, Washington. We are interested in all qualified candidates, including those outside the area who are open to relocating to the Yakima Valley. Relocation allowance is available.

Are you an experienced communications professional who wants to develop external communications strategies for a diverse non-profit community health organization, doing important work that impacts medically-underserved populations? Are you an independent and creative thinker who also loves to collaborate to seek input and perspective from others? Do you have a bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or similar field? Do you have at least 5 years of copy-writing experience in advertising, social media, long-form content, and messaging? And do you have 2 or more years of supervisory experience in a communications/marketing environment? If you answered Yes to these questions, then we have an awesome opportunity for you.

The Content Strategist develops and manages content strategies based on the business objectives of Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic. This role defines and maintains the brand voice and messaging. The Content Strategist partners with members of the External Affairs team to thoughtfully craft content that speaks with a patient-centered point of view.

Ability to make connections and demonstrate deep level thinking.

Experience leading a team in written story-telling on social media and websites.

Proven experience working in an agile development environment and defining/delivering successful products to market.

Someone who is self-directed but also collaborative, seeking to gain perspective and input from others, and includes others in communications strategy conversations.

Someone who is excited about problem-solving, identifying challenges, and looking for ways to tackle them.

Creativity, passion and, attention to detail.

Passionate/outgoing personality; able to create a sense of excitement for your products.

What You'll Do

Create a unified message and voice for 35 different brands.

Lead the planning, development, and management of content and develop communications strategies based on the objectives of the organization.

Manage the development and implementation of content strategy across an array of channels and locations.

Responsible for the concept, creation and implementation of marketing, long-form, short-form, earned media, and social media content.

Direct content strategy, including overseeing the creation of agency-wide talking points, scripts, messaging guides, and languages standards for services lines, programs and ancillary issues that is both effective and culturally appropriate for all communities we serve.

Act as the lead copy editor for all content created by the External Affairs team; lead communications team in identifying opportunities for growth, building brands, and improving the existing brand portfolio.

Ensure the content of owned and paid media platforms conforms with patient/client expectations, organizational business development needs, and YVFWC brand standards.

Collaborate with departments and leadership to uncover insights and strategies to develop and implement marketing and branding strategies.

Assign work and delegate tasks that can be adequately accomplished by other staff, and provide direction and guidance to develop staff.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, or similar field.

5 or more years of work experience in copywriting in a marketing, communications, advertising, or similar field.

At least 2 years of leadership/supervisory experience in a Marketing/Communications role.
