In collaboration with a fully integrated New Journeys clinical team, the Supported Employment and Education (SEE) Specialist works with program participants (i.e., individuals ages 15-25 or older who have experienced a first episode of psychosis) to achieve their vocational and educational goals. In contrast to traditional approaches to vocational rehab for psychiatric disorders that emphasize extensive assessments and prevocational training, the SEE Model focuses on a briefer Education and Career Inventory, followed by rapid job search or enrollment in an educational program, and then provision of follow-along supports to ensure success.
