Payroll Specialist
Summary
Contractor Looking for a member of the Finance team that will ensure accurate processing and recording of companys payroll, provide timely and accurate financial information, participate in daily data entry Payroll processing. Duties and Responsibilities:
ª Perform daily payroll department operations
ª Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
ª Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports
ª Familiar with construction software payroll systems
ª Experience with ACH and other banking functions
ª Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance
ª Process accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, year-end reporting including W-2s ect.
ª Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed
ª Process manual checks when necessary
ª Update and reconcile monthly bank statements
ª Complete Certified Payrolls
ª Input and Complete union reporting for multiple unions
Qualifications:
ª High School Diploma/GED.
ª CPP preferred but not required.
ª 4-6 years experience processing multi-state payroll.
ª Working knowledge of payroll best practices.
ª Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations.
ª Strong PC skills including proficiency in Excel .
ª Strong work ethic and team player.
ª High degree of professionalism.
ª Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material
ª Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills.
ª Ability to communicate with various levels of management.
ª Decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
ª Organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills.
Compensation
$18-$23 an hour
