Overview

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Tours and Rentals: Intake, reservation scheduling of group tours and building rentals. Coordinate and conduct regular community outreach to increase program participation.

2. Public Events/ Education: Plan and Coordinate monthly events by outreaching, creating, and maintaining community partnerships execute monthly educational, cultural, and environmental public events. Maintain and organize documentation including daily sign-ins for activities, monthly event participant and service information, activity logs, and other documentation as required. Foster leadership qualities in individual participants and promote community engagement by encouraging participant to engage in community issues. Design and create event promotion materials for advertising all events. Keep current event calendar and flyers up to date.

3. Exhibits:– Work in coordination with professional exhibit consultants to design, change and maintain current and evolving exhibit and gallery space. Keep exhibit signage current and resource educational materials up to date.

4. Gala Event coordination - Working with the Director and staff , will plan, coordinate, and help execute annual fundraising benefit (Gala) by networking and outreaching to procure auction items, corporate sponsorships, major donors, and volunteers. Schedule regular gala committee meetings with staff and gala committee volunteers to achieve a successful execution of the gala event.

5. Social Media & Communications: Advertise all events by external networks established by DTS. Creation of flyers, posting to website, outlook calendar, Facebook pages of the Duwamish Longhouse and Tribal Member. Responsible for creating graphic designs for flyers, signage and other events or programs as needed Send out communications for events, rentals, tours, and tribal news updates through mail chimp and all other forms of social media and networking tools available to DTS.

6. Communications: Monitors and responds to events, rentals and tour inquires by email, social media, web -posts and phone. Positively and effectively communicates the mission of our programs that support the Duwamish Tribe.

7. Records Management: Responsible for appropriate records management, filing and retention of collections and storage, including client rentals and tour records and receipts. Retains records for donated, contracted, or procured exhibit items of gallery and artists exhibit space. Maintain and organize documentation including daily sign-ins for activities, monthly event participant and service information, activity logs, and other documentation as required.

Requirements/Qualifications:

A strong conceptual thinker with a digital background

Are a strong communicator with ability to prioritize and manage work while adhering to critical timelines?

Are passionate about branding, storytelling, and producing engaging content and campaigns

Some design of digital and print assets including website, social media, campaign concepts, and emails

Ensure that all program events are delivered in our distinct brand voice and in a timely manner

Stay up to date with the latest design trends

Proficient in email marketing - a plus

Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills

Strong organizational skills with attention to details

consistently able to follow through and able to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.

Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Strong sense of accountability and responsibility

Strong ability to follow-up and follow-through on assignments

Demonstrates awareness and ability to address the cultural needs of targeted population

Able to work independently and collaborate with a strong, diverse, and interconnected management team.

Commitment to social action, social justice, civic engagement, and leadership development

Ability to interact with and positively engage people of various social, ethnic, cultural, linguistic, religious, economic, and educational backgrounds

Desire and ability to work as a member of a team

Desire working knowledge of the history of the Duwamish Tribe of Indians and other local tribes.

Requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing, walking, reaching, and lifting. Must be able to lift at least 20 lbs.

Work is generally performed onsite, however on occasion events and tours are outside. Some travel will be needed

To attend meetings, meet with sponsors and network with the community.

Must have your own vehicle. There is no public transportation near our site.

Must be available to work a flexible schedule on occasion. Some events and rentals are scheduled outside normal business hours. Flexibility is a requirement of this position.
