KITCHEN ADMINISTRATOR
Compensation: $17 - $20.35 per hour; DOE
Employment Type: Full-time, non-exempt (Hourly)
Schedule Requirements: Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, averaging 40 hours per week. At times, the Kitchen Administrator may be scheduled to work evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
WHO YOU ARE
The Kitchen Administrator for Meydenbauer Center is a self-starter who takes initiative and seeks opportunity to collaborate with colleagues and clients. The ideal Kitchen Administrator has a strong financial acumen partnered with strong negotiation skills and the ability to effectively manage relationships. The Kitchen Administrator will also possess solid computer literacy skills with an excellent attention to detail.
A DAY IN THE LIFE
Act as a point of contact between the company and suppliers.
Identify potential suppliers based on operational requirements.
Optimize processes that provide the best prices for the best products, contributing to the overall profitability of the company.
Work closely with the Executive Chef, Event Managers and Accounting Team to ensure purchasing and inventory standards are met.
Ensure all received product is confirmed for accuracy and quality. Communicate with suppliers regarding delay in delivery, receipt of damaged or incorrect quantity of goods.
Adhere to food safety and handling policies and procedures across all food-related areas.
Monitor and update relevant departments regarding price of goods fluctuation and product availability.
Provide light operational support when needed.
Additional kitchen administrative tasks that include, but are not limited to:
Perform organized and timely invoice classification
Maintain dry storage in a clean tidy manner using first in, first out system.
Attend meetings with suppliers, accounting and operation teams when required.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
One (1) – two (2) years of industry experience at a comparable hospitality company or public assembly, including knowledge of catering operations and menu composition.
Solid understanding of purchasing, negotiation and vendor management techniques.
Proficient in MS Office; particularly excel spreadsheets.
Strong understanding of financial information, data, and basic arithmetic functions.
