Organization and Job IDJob ID: 309791Directorate: Earth & Biological SciencesDivision: Biological SciencesGroup: BioStructure & FunctionJob DescriptionThe Integrative Omics research group at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory is seeking highly motivated candidates for several postdoctoral positions focusing on mass spectrometry-based proteomics method developments focusing on the characterization of major posttranslational modifications including protein phosphorylation and thiol-based redox modifications, targeted quantification of protein biomarkers, and associated biological applications in disease problems related to metabolism or oxidative stress. Preferable candidates will have a Ph.D. degree in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, organic chemistry, clinical chemistry, chemical engineering, cell or molecular biology, microbiology, or closely related fields. Hands-on experience in mass spectrometry-based proteomics, LC separations, and bioinformatics are not required, but will be considered as a plus. Research will include proteomics sample processing and method development and optimization, LC-MS analysis, and data interpretation of global and targeted quantitative proteomic measurements in different sample types. The successful candidate will be expected to work effectively with interdisciplinary teams of researchers, be self-motivated, and have excellent communication skills. The successful candidate is expected to assist and lead the preparation and presentation of papers, posters, reports, etc. Additionally, they will use project management systems at PNNL, maintain an accurate laboratory notebook and adhere to Environmental Safety and Health (ES&H) Operations and security requirements and directorate/group policies. The duration of this appointment is two years, with the option of extending the appointment for up to three years, depending on project funding and individual performance.Minimum QualificationsCandidates must have received a PhD within the past five years (60 months) or within the next 8 months from an accredited college or university.Preferred QualificationsStrong organization and communication skills are needed to work efficiently in a team environment and to effectively demonstrate project success.
