Organization and Job ID Job ID: 309792Directorate: Earth & Biological SciencesDivision: Biological SciencesGroup: BioStructure & FunctionJob Description A post-doctoral position is available in Integrative Omics group at PNNL for collaborative project involving Columbia University and Rush Alzheimer’s Disease Center. The successful applicant will be immersed into application of proteomics to the research of Alzheimer’s disease and associated pathologies affecting cognition. In broad terms, the project involves discovery and validation of novel drug target candidates. The discovery component will rely on both prior available genomics and shotgun proteomics focused on a number of post-translational modifications that will be acquired during the course of the project. Validation component employs automated large-scale (>1,000 samples) quantitative targeted proteomics (SRM) analysis of the protein of interest or their modifications. Finally, the specific role of proteins in cognitive decline will be inferred using advanced statistical modeling techniques. This post-doctoral position provides an opportunity to learn a variety of proteomics techniques, the latest developments in Alzheimer’s disease research and statistical analysis of omics and clinical data.
