Field Services/Cell Tower Technician (Moses Lake)

StarTouch Microwave Communications is seeking an EXPERIENCED field technician/cell tower technician to join our team based in Moses Lake, Washington.

Candidate should expect to spend up to 70% of their time working directly on communication towers, at tower sites, and traveling to and from job sites throughout Central and Eastern Washington and Eastern Idaho. Approximately 30% of their time will be spent performing customer installations, uninstalls, and miscellaneous job-related duties. NO DAY IS EVER THE SAME.

REQUIRED TRAINING AND/OR CERTIFICATION (COMPANY PAID/PROVIDED)

OSHA 10 safety certification within 10 days of hire

CPR/First Aid certification within 5 days of hire

Tower climbing safety certified within 30 days of hire

NWSA certification TTT-1 - http://www.nws-a.org/certifications/telecommunications-tower-technician/ within 120 days of hire

(FREQUENT OVERTIME W/YEAR ROUND WORK)

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL:

-meet physical standards for tower climbing and rescue per OSHA standards

-have ability to regularly lift/carry approx. 70 pounds (tool boxes, ladders, antennas, loaded climbing harness, cabling, etc.) to and from job sites and up towers

-be able to pass pre-employment and random drug screens

-possess a valid local driver’s license

-possess and maintain an insurable driving record for driving company service vehicle

-be free for overnight stays (sometimes multiple nights) for jobs out of immediate region

-love the high-elevation views of the valleys and local mountains, with no fear of heights (100-400 feet)

-enjoy technical challenges and troubleshooting

-demonstrate the ability to configure microwave radios (training provided)

-possess HVAC, electrical or previous cable installation experience/training, tower work, etc.

-be able to use ATV's to reach remote locations in the winter

-relish the term "no day is EVER the same"

-be confident and professional when installing our Internet service to customers at their business

-strive to meet and exceed industry standards for safety and quality of work

-be able to arrive consistently and timely for work each day

-be proficient with computer use/data entry/cell phone use

-clearly speak English to communicate effectively with customers and co-workers

-follow all company policies, safety procedures and industry best practices

-be available to participate in rotating, after-hours on-call schedule for emergency work
