The Cat Rental Store (CRS) Technician II performs minor repairs, annual inspections, and preventative maintenance on high reach and equipment rental fleet. This position schedules major repairs with Service Department and monitors progress to maintain optimal rental availability. One year rental experience and a valid driver’s license with ability to obtain a CDL is required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Washes, details, repairs, and maintains rental equipment to CAT and Western States Equipment standards.
Ability to perform basic trouble shooting.
Performs make-ready inspections.
Performs minor repairs, annual inspections, and preventative maintenance services on high reach and equipment rental fleet.
Delivers equipment with company truck and trailer, as needed.
Schedules major repairs with the service department and monitors progress to maintain optimum rental availability.
Professional customer service skills.
Adheres to all customer care standards.
Continues career development to include on the job training, online, and instructor led training.
Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies, procedures, and standards.
Work within and promotes corporate vision, mission, and values of the organization.
Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Experience with basic hand tools required.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Ability to learn and use computer systems (ET, STW, Parts Integration, SIS Web).
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Consistent attendance and ability to work extended hours or on-call, as needed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
Allied training or equipment experience preferred.
1 year experience required.
Western States Technician Career Development, (Apprentice Level) training preferred.
Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write in English).
CDL license preferred or ability to obtain.
PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS:
Ability to satisfy DOT medical card requirements.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time along with walking, sitting, climbing stairs, reaching pushing, pulling, leaning and twisting.
Able to lift up to 50 lbs in accordance with Western States’ Lifting Safe Work Practice to include amount and approach.
Must be able to meet all safety requirements for applicable safety policies.
