Are you a great cleaner? We need you!

We are looking for a reliable and efficient housekeeper to assist with cleaning nightly-guest rentals (Airbnb) and performing general residential property cleaning of a commercial property located in downtown Prosser. We need someone who can work flexible hours (on-demand) depending on bookings (we often have back-to-back bookings and occasionally get last minute bookings), who can work independently and efficiently to provide the best quality cleanings in a quick turnaround time (no more than 3 hours) and who can provide regular general cleaning of the shared residential portions of the building.

In addition to typical cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, sweeping, dusting, bathroom cleaning and trash removal; special tasks needed for the guest rentals include: sanitizing all the surfaces in the bathroom and kitchen, washing and changing the linens, washing and hanging fresh towels, emptying the fridge and cleaning the interior, putting away dishes, cleaning underneath and between furniture cushions, looking for damage or missing items, stocking the units with toilet paper, soap, etc. (cleaning and restocking supplies will be provided by management and available on site).

You must have reliable transportation and consistent access to the internet (preferably a smartphone) in order to stay in up-to-date with the online calendar showing current bookings and cleaning needs. Physical demands of this role include the ability to lift up to 35 lbs and to climb up and down stairs, as the residential portion of the building is located on the 2nd floor. Must be able to work weekends/holidays and you will be responsible for scheduling the substitute cleaner to cover any cleanings if unavailable.

Pay is an hourly rate for the general cleaning of the residential portion of the property (currently about 10 hours/month) and is paid based per cleaning for the turnover of the nightly guest rooms ($35 per guest suite). This is independent contract work meaning that you will need to fill out a W-9 and will be responsible for your own taxes.

Specific Guest Room Duties Include:

-Efficient, quality room turnover

-Self sufficient and high communication regarding booking/cleaning calendar

-Removes miscellaneous debris and trash from rooms; disposes of trash in curbside garbage can

-Makes bed by removing and replacing sheets and pillow cases, inspects blankets and bedspreads for soiling and replaces soiled items.

-Refreshes bath area by cleaning tub, toilet, sinks and mirrors; removing used towels and bathmats and replacing bath linens.

-Launders all sheets, linens, and towels from rooms using in-house washing machines

-Replenishes room supplies by restocking toiletries and kitchen supplies.

-Cleans floors by sweeping/vacuuming floors and mopping as needed.

-Maintains furnishings by dusting and polishing furniture; cleaning and polishing glass surfaces.

-Conserves energy by closing shades and draperies; turning down air conditioning and heat of unoccupied rooms.

-Maintains room availability by notifying supervisor of room readiness.

-Keeps supplies ready by organizing and taking inventory of janitorial room.

-Assist nightly guests in an emergency, if needed

Specific General Property Cleaning Duties Include:

-Removes miscellaneous debris and trash from building and bathrooms; disposes of all building trash in curbside garbage can

-Wet mop all restroom floors

-Refill soap dispensers in shared bathrooms

-Replace all used toilet paper, paper towels, and kleenex dispensers as needed

-Descale and disinfect sinks and toilets

-Clean and disinfect restroom fixtures, toilets, urinals, mirrors, towel racks, cabinets, countertops, mirrors, and soap dispensers

-Clean shower door glass inside and out

-Dust mop all floors

-Spot mop all accessible hard surface floor to remove spillage or dirt

-Vacuum all carpeted areas and entrance mats, including stairs 1x week

-Wipe exposed counter surfaces, tables, chairs, fire extinguishers, handrails, plants

-Clean and polish furniture, interior doors, and woodwork

-Spot clean carpets to remove any and all spots

-Dust vertical and venetian blinds and carriers, all grills and vents, high and low moldings, ledges, baseboards, window sills, and wall mounted items (picture frames, etc)

-Neatly arrange all furniture

-Removes all prints and smudge marks from around door knobs, light switches and interior glass

-General cleaning of shared kitchen and eating areas

-Once a month clean shared kitchen oven and wipe down refrigerator

-Sweep sidewalk, entrance areas and stairs

-Remove cobwebs on stairway and sidewalk entrance as needed

-Keep janitors closet and supplies neat and orderly

-Notify property manager or owner of any problems or supplies that need to be reordered

-Other cleaning service as needed and agreed upon by both parties
