Agronomist / Account Executive – Washington and Oregon
Pollen Systems has an immediate need for an Agronomist / Account Executive for Washington and Oregon. We are a young, growing data analytics company with headquarters in Bellevue, WA, with the goal of helping farmers grow better crops. This position is primarily located in the Tri-Cities area with travel throughout Washington and Oregon.
Candidate must have a thorough understanding of production agriculture concepts and techniques. Must be a motivated self-starter, identifying goals to be accomplished daily/annually. Interacts with Farm Managers and Owners, delivering both sales and support. Requires individual with problem solving and solution minded techniques.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with farm management, research department, field and product development, technical sales personnel and customers to represent and deliver Pollen Solutions
Plan, schedule, execute, evaluate, analyze, interpret and report results of solution effectiveness
Document procedures, results and conclusions
Assist in trial establishment, monitoring, weed control, plot maintenance, agronomic and disease notations and harvest, as necessary
Manage field calls regarding product performance and complaints
Attend public and university meetings/field days to stay abreast of new products and technology
Maintain a strong grower and customer rapport, while supporting a strong company image to customers
Work may include extensive travel throughout Washington and Oregon

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Knowledge of field plot/block design and experimental procedure
Be familiar with proper identification of plant stress, disease and insect pests
Working knowledge of and the ability to safely operate drones and farm equipment
Be able to identify and diagnose field-plant-soil causal organisms and appropriate symptoms
EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATION/FORMAL TRAINING:
Degree in Agronomy, Plant or Soil Science or related fields from an accredited university or experience equivalent
ESSENTIAL ABILITIES:
Physically located in Eastern Washington
Computer literate

Valid driver’s license and vehicle
Valid FAA Drone Operator License (may acquire upon hiring)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Prolonged standing and walking in field setting
May be required to occasionally lift up to 50 LBS.

Work performed outdoors in production agricultural environments within Washington and Oregon
