Plan, update, and teach curriculum for three quarter long courses that are part of the Personal Fitness Trainer certificate program;

Supervise and evaluate student progress;

Maintain related student records, evaluations and progress reports as required by the WA State and BTC;

Participate in program management;

Participate in purchase and care of equipment and supplies for assigned courses;

Contribute to the College wide goals and activities and be committed to the mission of the College;

Consult with other College faculty and staff on issues relevant to student success and retention;

Other related duties as assigned.

Required:

A minimum of five years working as a personal fitness trainer or in a related field; have current national certification as a personal fitness trainer through an organization such as: ACSM, NASM, NSCA, NCSF, NFPT, ACE, CI, SIEP, or ISSA; hold a current First Aid/CPR card; interest and ability to develop and implement new curriculum; ability to work with students from diverse educational and cultural backgrounds; ability to offer varied methods of instruction, academic advising and assessment of learning outcomes; and ability to work as a member of a team within the department and the college community.

Salary Statement & Work Schedule:

Salaries will be determined according to the current negotiated part-time faculty salary agreement. (About $47 per hour). No additional benefits. Adjunct positions are part-time, quarterly and temporary and employment for this position is contingent on adequate enrollment.

The tentative schedule for each quarter is three classes per week - currently scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturdays.
