ON CALL PROGRAM MONITOR
I. General Statement
Provide custodial care for residents housed in a twenty-four hours facility in accordance with State contractual agreements, facility guidelines and the community standards established for proper supervision, and other duties as assigned. Great experience for anyone wanting to work in the criminal justice system.
II. Examples of Duties
Resident Monitoring (30%)
Working knowledge of and follows Work Release DOC and facility policies and procedures
Controls and records all resident departures and arrivals
Conducts pat, property, wand, and room searches.
Administers U/A and B/A tests and documents results
Maintains the safety and security of the facility and property Program and Facility Safety (15%)
Conduct at least three random grounds checks during the shift.
Conducts at least three random resident counts
Monitors security cameras
Regularly reads the logs and records any incidents or significant encounters in the shift log

Program Operations (35%)
Assists in meal delivery
Oversees visitation and social outings
Communication and Collaborations (15%)
Attends staff meetings, selected group and house meetings
Models positive behaviors
Maintains an impartial dialogue and professional interaction with residents
Other Duties as Assigned (5%)
III. Desirable Qualifications
Knowledge of the State Criminal Justice system. The ability to understand, interpret and apply procedures and directives. The ability to communicate well both orally and in writing.
Ability to regularly climb multiple flights of stairs and carry up to 45 pounds.
Flexibility to work all shifts (day, swing or grave), holidays and weekends.
IV. Education/Experience
Some education in the social sciences is preferred. Experience may be substituted for the education.
