Trollhaugen Lodge, privately owned and operated by the Sons of Norway, District 2, is seeking full time Managers/Caretakers to oversee daily operations of the lodge. Trollhaugen is a year round recreational facility nestled in the Cascade Mountains, 1 mile South of I90 on Stampede Pass Road (exit 62, adjacent to the Crystal Springs Snow Park).

Applicants should possess knowledge or prior experience in a hospitality or related business. Love of nature and the mountains is also a definite plus. Knowledge of building maintenance and mechanical aptitude is desirable. Applicants will be instructed in the operation and maintenance of snow-cats and related equipment during the winter months. Basic first aid and CPR are required and training will be provided.

The Manager/Caretaker position is a team, married or domestic partners only need apply. Single applicants will not be considered.

The Manager/Caretaker position is ideal for a retired couple looking for a change of pace. Managers will have access to a modest private apartment for their use. Utilities and basic satellite TV are included. Trollhaugen is a non-smoking facility. Indoor litter box trained cats permitted. Applicants will be subject to a drug test and background check. Salary starts at $2000.00 per couple per month.

Typical job responsibilities include:

- Arrange for lodge bookings, registration and parking.

- Helping people enjoy their stay at the lodge.

- Collect and dispense all revenue from lodging fees, ski equipment rentals and donations.

- Performs periodic building inspections checking for damage, cleanliness, electrical and plumbing issues and any appliance and structural discrepancies. Serious problems or repairs require immediate notification of the Board President.

- Perform building maintenance such as window washing, floor cleaning & waxing, take inventory of janitorial products and maintenance materials. Repair and painting of windows, walls, doors, etc., as necessary. Mattress covers are washed on a quarterly basis.

- In winter months, ensure snow is removed from entrances and walkways, the hot tub area and the dance platform (used in summer months).

- Perform maintenance and arranges for or accomplishes major repair work on the snow-cats.

- Transport guests between the lodge and parking lot in the winter months.

- Weekends are typically booked (especially in winter) but you will have plenty of free time to explore the surrounding terrain and enjoy the serenity of the Cascade Mountains. Scheduled days off and vacation are included.
