Job Description:
The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing in process quality checks, verifying incoming material compliance, and maintaining calibrated tools/gages. This position is the gatekeeper and second check on cosmetic, dimensional, and process conformance. The candidate will work with production and engineering to ensure production follows established processes and provide information as required to evaluate non-conforming parts. The ability to learn quickly, work under minimal supervision, and think critically will be key to success. On the job training is provided. The ability to read drawings, familiarity with calipers/micrometers are a plus. This is a full-time day shift position eligible for benefits.
Duties/ Requirements:
-Perform First Article Inspections
-Hourly inspect key dimensions and characteristics outlined in the Quality In Process documents
-Inspect incoming goods for dimensional accuracy to specific requirements
-Verify outside process quality including anodize, paint, plate, weld, and heat treat
-Follow up with increased inspection on non-conforming parts
-Maintain process up/down monitoring board
-Perform double check to process compliance
-Comfortable holding the quality line under conflict
-Perform instrument calibration
-Provide inspection skills training to employee’s
-Communicate technical details both verbally and in written formats
Desired Skills/Experience:
-Familiarity with machine tools and a production environment
-Strong problem solving and trouble shooting ability
-Experience with precision measurement tools; calipers, micrometers, and height gages
-Competency with Microsoft office suite
