Healthy Pet currently has an opening for a Quality Assurance Manager to join our team! The QA Manager is responsible for ensuring a culture of quality across all areas of the facility while facilitating process and procedure consensus as a priority for employees, suppliers and customers.

The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, have previous QA experience and has the ability to apply sound judgment, analytical and problem-solving techniques to make reasoned, timely and consistent decisions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Performs, verifies, and validates the quality procedures being used by site quality and operations’ teams for accuracy and consistency

- Attends operations’ supervisor and shift-team meetings to ensure communication to promote quality and listen to operations’ needs

- Communicates changes and project updates within the broader quality department and operations’ groups

- Trends quality data monthly in report form to assess changes, improvements, and concerns for manufactured products using statistical interpretations

- Facilitates and tests the incoming raw material for use in appropriate recipes and supports purchasing in decision making

- As part of the HACCP and quality systems documents; documents and/or facilitates holds, dispositions, corrective actions and additional programs

- Supervises and provides backup to the quality laboratory staff and is able to perform all testing and support activities

- Performs facility and quality system audits monthly

- Communicates and forges teamwork relationships with all departments

- Documents supplier performance for annual report card

- Updates quality databases and participates in the annual review, update, creation of the quality documentation system

- Reviews and presents consumer and customer feedback to operations’ teams; participates in communications to customers

- Oversees continuous process, procedural and product improvement related to quality assurance

- Works directly with operations regarding good manufacturing practices, quality initiatives and corrective actions, while focusing on process and constructive improvements. Coordinates objectives in cooperation with plant managers to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.

- Ensures organizational systems and training are in place

- Provides product packaging claim validation support to research and development

- Performs root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality concerns; leveraging operations group

- Performs verification and validations for quality system

- Orders laboratory equipment and supplies for manufacturing facility locations

- Represents the Company by maintaining a professional approach and demeanor in all activities

- Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES:

- Associate’s degree in a related technical field (Bachelor’s preferred).

- Approximately five years of successful quality assurance management experience in a manufacturing environment (pulp & paper/food manufacturing experience a plus)

- Intermediate level excel

- Ability to learn and interface with ERP systems

- Familiar with inventory control systems having hold and release programs

- Familiar with HACCP and SQF or equivalent auditing
