JOB DESCRIPTION
A service writer that greets customers at the dealership, listens to their concerns and addresses inquiries as necessary, writes reports of a vehicle's condition, and delivers information to a professional mechanic or technician.
Maintains accurate and on-time reports and records relative to the service department operation within the dealership. Assure that all charges related to work orders are posted properly. Assure all work orders are closed on a timely basis. Process warranty and product improvement claims. Must conduct themselves in the presence of customers in a manner that promotes a positive image of the company.
QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB REQUIREMENTS
Demonstrates strong interpersonal and customer service skills
Maintains professional but friendly demeanor
Possesses knowledge of automotive and motorcycle industry and various repairs options
Demonstrates strong organizational skills
Is able to read and interpret automotive billing statements and work orders.
Manages time efficiently
Demonstrates excellent telephone etiquette
High school diploma or GED required
Previous work experience in automotive and motorcycle industry required
Must hold a valid driver's license
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Standard 40- hours workweek applies
Shifts vary from day to evening and some weekend hours may be required
