Industrial Services Technician/Commercial Route Driver

Operates a company vehicle to pick up hazardous and non-hazardous waste from various customers.

Job Responsibilities:

Operates Company equipment to include but not limited to: vacuum truck, vacuum tanker, tractor trailer, pressure washer, roll off frame, box trucks, box trailers, hand truck, lift gate, welding torch, LEL/O2 meter, tripod, harness, and respirators

Operates rental equipment to include backhoe, track hoe, skid steer, external pumps, flat bed trailers and others as determined by project scopes

Perform daily pre and post inspections of interior and exterior of Company Vehicle

Complete daily, weekly, and monthly log sheets and trip tickets

Collect hazardous and non-hazardous material from multiple accounts on a daily basis

Accurately calculate quantities collected by measuring truck prior to and upon completion of work, reference calibration chart

Inspect and label drums

Follow current DOT regulations regarding driving / working hours and complete logs correctly

Complete a manifest for all customers on a daily per stop basis

Communicate with customer prior to and upon completion of work

Perform services for separators, wash pits, drains and tank cleanings as well as site remediation work and spill response procedures

Perform confined space entry cleaning procedures

Utilize a company cell phone during and after business hours to assist in spill response procedures as necessary

Communicate directly with Industrial Services dispatcher and / or Industrial Services Manager to resolve customer issues and / or questions.

Ability to work in team or individually

Ability to travel out of town or state as needed for extended periods of time either individually or as a team

Ability to work long hours and be available for intermittent weekend work

Performs confined space entry

Other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Skills, Experience, and/or Education Required:

Excellent Driving Record

Must meet all Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations

No current license suspension or revocation

No major traffic violations in the past 3 years

Reckless/Careless Driving

DWI/DUI

Hit and Run, leaving the scene of an accident or failure to report an accident

Excessive speeding as defined by the DOT: any single offense for any speed 15 mph or more above the posted speed limit.

Valid CDL license

High school diploma or GED preferred

Two years of CDL route driving experience or military driving experience

Tanker Endorsement required

Hazardous Endorsement or ability to obtain

Good communication skills, oral and written

Ability to lift and carry up to 75lbs.

Ability to climb stairs & ladders and work at various heights

Ability to push and/or pull heavy material

Ability to work in extreme weather conditions

Ability to perform confined space entry is required
