POSITION SUMMARY MAINTENANCE MULTICRAFT Combine the knowledge of mechanical technology with the knowledge of electrical and electronic circuits. Operate, test, and maintain unmanned, automated, robotic, or electro-mechanical equipment. Work with capacitors, resistors, diodes, proximity switches, transformers, HMIs and programming PLCs within a manufacturing environment. Install, maintain, and repair automated machinery. Maintain VFDs, gearboxes, reducers, conveyors and pumps, as well as pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Â ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS To accomplish this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily:ÂAdhere to plant-wide safety, ergonomics and environmental requirements defined by Amsted Rail.Repair down equipment within a manufacturing environment to working condition.Read blueprints, schematics, and diagrams to determine the method and sequence of assembly of a part, machine, or piece of equipment.Inspect parts for proper fitting.Repair and calibrate hydraulic and pneumatic assemblies.Test the performance of electro-mechanical assemblies using test instruments such as multi-meters, volt and amp meters.Install electronic parts and hardware, using soldering equipment and hand tools.Repair mechanical systems (e.g., gear boxes, chains, sprockets, motors, seals, bearings).Repair basic electrical systems (e.g., starters, fuses, contacts, relays).Repair conveyers (air cylinders, diverters, sensors, motor/speed controls)Repair electronics (e.g., level probes, flow meters, drives/VFDs, etc.).Repair PLC (e.g., industrial maintenance, computer control systems, etc.).Repair hydraulic systems (high-pressure cylinders, pumps, valves, troubleshooting).Repair pneumatics/air compression (e.g., valves, cylinders, etc.).Repair pneumatic systems (solenoids, cylinders, motor brakes, reading, troubleshooting).Repair compressors/ammonia systems (e.g., refrigeration systems).Repair pumps (e.g., troubleshooting, replacing seals/motors, understanding specs).Repair servomotors (e.g., intelligent/robotic motors, in-coders, etc.)Operate, test, program or maintain robotic equipment.Follow proper lock out/tag out procedures as required.Perform all assignments or work orders with general instructions as to the results expected.Coordinate several projects simultaneously while prioritizing competing demands and within assigned time frame.Follow and comply with all applicable plant policies, GMPs, SOPs, safety procedures, (LOTO) and HACCP programs.Use five senses to monitor and adjust machines to compensate for problems. Perform preventative maintenance, in accordance with schedules TPM program tasks.Communicate with all other team members to assure production and customer satisfaction.Complete all necessary forms and related to maintenance work.Perform basic housekeeping to keep area clean and safe.Work independently and/or as part of a teamPerform daily 6S duties.Perform other duties, as assigned. EDUCATION/ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS Journeyman or similar related certification or 2-year degree in Maintenance/Electrical/Mechanical Technology or Equivalent Training with experience.ÂMust be able to show a basic understanding of computer operations.Minimum of 4 years experience in related field with proven industry experience. Ability and willingness to work 12 hour shifts and the flexibility to work a schedule that may include days, evenings, overnights, weekends and/or holidays.
