Western Express is currently accepting applications for Service Manager of our new Richmond, VA terminal. We expect to take possession of our maintenance facility first week of June, and plan to be starting service work by the end of the month. We are looking for a motivated leader with experience in the heavy equipment industry to manage a team of around 25 technicians, parts, and service writing associates.
Job Description and Duties
- Reports to Regional Maintenance Manager, Director and VP of Maintenance
- Works with Operations Manager to ensure equipment is serviced and available in a timely manner
- Provide daily supervision to foremen, supervisors, leads, service writers and parts manager
- Ensure parts/inventory is purchased, stocked and available to meet the needs of repairs
- Ensure all repair orders are being submitted, entered correctly and timely
- Responsible for staffing to make sure all repair and operational needs are met
- Perform daily shop/yard inspections to include but not limited to OSHA, EPA, Federal, State and Company rules
- Any other duties assigned by management
- Monday Friday salaried position, 50 hour work week that could vary depending on workload and needs
Experience Requirements
- At least 5 years in the Heavy Duty Vehicle Repair and Maintenance Industry
- At least 2 years of Supervision (Maintenance or Business Management is preferred)
- OSHA, EPA, Parts, Tires and Hiring experience is a plus
Salary & Compensation
- Base salary from $68,000 - $80,000 based on experience
- Quarterly incentives based on service center audit score, productivity, efficiency, down time and availability of equipment
