Linux AdministratorLocation: Virtual Office / RemoteClearance: Public TrustPosition Summary / ResponsibilitiesWe are currently seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented Linux Administrator to join our team to begin an exciting and challenging career.Responsibilities:
Installing new software releases and performing system upgrades.
Planning and scheduling the installation of new or modified hardware and operating systems and application software.
Maintaining systems configuration.
Managing accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipment.
Managing the installation and integration of systems fixes, updates, and enhancements.
Performing Linux system administration, including software installation, upgrade and user support, data protection, archival, user backup and recovery on a fully networked environment.
Keeping Operating Systems and Engineering Software up-to-date, secure, licensed and supported.
Responsible for diagnosing and resolving critical problems in existing systems, which may require innovative solutions in development, integration, test, and production environments.
Shares information cross-functionally to improve workflow processes.
Work collaboratively to automate operations, processes, and to deploy applications.
Implementing security procedures and tools.
Resolving hardware/software interface and interoperability problems.
Ensuring systems availability, functionality, integrity, and efficiency.
Perform script maintenance and updates due to changes in requirements or implementations and assist with setup and maintenance of test environments for manual and automated testing.
Required Skills:
Must be a US Citizen or Green Card/Permanent Resident Holder
Must currently hold a Public Trust clearance; GSA preferred
Minimum 5 years’ experience w/ Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering
Minimum 9 years of hands-on work related experience w/ no degree
Experience with Jboss and TomCat preferred
Understanding of TCP/IP networking: subnetting and routing
Basic Relational Databases Administration: Postgres, MySQL, Oracle
Some experience in Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a plus
