Job DescriptionPreferred work location for this position is Norfolk, Virginia. However, we will consider candidates in the NY Metro area with required travel expectations.The Workday Financials Systems Analyst is responsible for the ongoing support and maintenance of Workday Financials & Adaptive Insights including master data management, as well as related reporting and analytics. The individual will support configuration, report development, create business processes and troubleshoot technical issues. The Workday Financials Analyst works closely with Finance and business leadership to improve processes and leverage the technological capabilities of Workday & Adaptive Insights to maximize system efficiencies.Responsibilities:

Provide day-to-day system support for maintaining and administering Workday Financials and Adaptive Insights

Manage all FDM activities - changes in hierarchies and accounts, chart of account definitions and business rules

Configure and maintain business process workflow, custom fields, worktags, custom validations, custom reports, dashboards and integrations.

Partner with Finance and Technology teams to lead Workday system related projects, including system releases/upgrades, enhancement packages, and process redesign

Create, design, and maintain Workday reports, dashboards, and calculated fields

Assist in Financial system audits, and maintenance of controls and documentation for compliance.

Maintain data integrity and enforce consistent data mapping across Workday and Adaptive

Identify and lead the implementation of process improvements to gain efficiency and ensure data integrity across Finance systems

Work with cross functional teams to drive improvements/best practices including analyzing and optimizing Financial Systems related workflows, platform design and setup.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, or related field

3-5 years of hands-on experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software

Minimum of 2 years’ experience with Workday Financials and/or Adaptive Insights is required

Workday financials reporting expertise is a must

General understanding of accounting principles as it pertains to: General Ledger, A/P, Fixed Assets & Project Costing and familiarity with financial planning & budgeting processes

Communicates effectively with individuals at all levels within the organization and can serve as a technical liaison.

Demonstrated ability to work individually and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Proficiency in Excel, reporting concepts and tools.

Organized, self-driven, and self-directed with strong ability to prioritize and work to deadlines.

Able to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively.

Demonstrated track record of creating meaningful reports from Financial Systems.

Sound analytical skills with the ability to successfully troubleshoot and problem solve with both internal and remote users.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong collaboration and presentation skills.

Always committed to delivering excellent customer service and support

In-depth understanding of how Financial Systems and general ERP practices can be utilized to support and improve business processes.

Some travel will be required.
