Planate Management Group is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, USA with a technical support center in the Philippines that provides program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies.
The Engineer for Resource Efficiency Management will be responsible for providing Subject Matter Specialist (SMS) services for database and systems operation, management, support and analysis for the facilities of Joint Base Charleston, SC.
This position is contigent on the award of the contract.
Key responsibilities:
Provide quality control of databases to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data. This includes conducting quality control on monthly energy data using the Air Force Energy Reporting System (AFERS) and Next Generation IT (NexGen IT)/TRIRIGA report tools, as well as facility and/or MAJCOM meter and billing databases, to diagnose, resolve, and document reporting anomalies, data conflicts and inappropriate data usage
Provide advanced technical knowledge, analysis, project development and project management support for the integration of Internet of Things (IoT) energy management and building automation projects and technologies
Provide advanced technical knowledge and analysis of Air Force, Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of Energy (DoE) Information Technology (IT) systems, databases and technologies such as NexGen IT, Compliance Tracking System (CTS) and AMI to support the development, implementation and management of various programs associated with the Energy Independence and Security Act 2007 (EISA 07), Section 432
Compile Government data for entry into base-level databases prior to contributing data to the FEMP database
Assist the Government with the preparation of conservation incentive and award documentation for AF award programs by coordinating efforts of multiple locations and creating local databases of conservation data for development of award submission documentation
Create database entries for new submittals and maintenance of accuracy within existing database submittals in national awards tracking databases such as FEMPs annual Federal Energy and Water Management Awards database
Provide demonstration to new staff in the use of specialized programs, software, and tools proficiently and provide training and support to the field (as needed), including contract and newly hired personnel
Provide technical support, and collaboration to staff in the field to ensure timely, high quality deliverables
Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Qualifications to be successful in the role:
Bachelors or masters degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-Accredited Institution is essential
Minimum of five years of experience designing projects involving electrical and mechanical engineering work
Knowledge of Air Force, DOD, and Federal Energy Management Requirements
Able to work with organizational managers and higher engineering authority in developing and gaining approval for proposed facility/utility programs/projects
Must have an experience with Microsoft Excel, Access and Word
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
