Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed. Schedules equipment and personnel, confirms material supply and demands, prepares work orders or purchase requests for the production or purchase of components or parts based on a master production schedule, shop load and inventory requirements. The candidate will be responsible for Production Control Deck Plate Planner (DPP) functions in support of the Production Support Team (PST) and the RCOH value stream members both ship and shop. Responsibilities include requesting/approving material through MOD or Job Prep team, reviewing work package/IR for material ECD/EDD’s, initiating non-technical IR's, and assisting in clearing liabilities for work package/IR closures. The candidate should also have a working knowledge of SAP functionality along with material handling processes and procedures. In addition the candidate should possess strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, quick learner, team oriented, should be self-motivated, able to resolve issues as they arise, and be very receptive to changing responsibilities and processes.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

Stand and walk for extended periods of time

Lifting of up to 25 lbs

Exposure to noise levels requiring hearing protection

Work within a close quarters manufacturing and ship construction environment
