31959BRJob Title:FSG Designer 2Department/Cost Center:134 - FSG LETTS Busn Unit - 13401 - Engineering ServicesExternal Job Description:THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON TASK AWARDPosition Specifics:Currently seeking a Designer with recent experience in development of AutoCAD drawings in a technical environment.Candidate must also have the following:tMust be able to obtain a Confidential Security ClearanceThe selected candidate will be responsible for drawing development for Naval Vessels and will work in one or more of the following disciplines; Structure, Outfitting, HVAC, Mechanical, or Electrical.This position will require the ability to work in a shipboard environment, lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes; the exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job, ability to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, not limited to shipboard, shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces. Additionally, ability to perform other duties as required may involve high heat, humidity, noise and dirty conditions, working aloft or over the sides of vessels, riding ships at sea for extended periods, may require the ability to work while wearing a respirator, and travel may be required within and outside of the continental United States.Responsibilities:Designs components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations. Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as, CAD, CAM or CATIA. Gathers information, makes studies, computes calculations, and prepares original rough layouts, sketches to present design proposal. Coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning group such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials, and contractual specifications.
