Job SummaryAmentum is seeking a Oracle Database Engineer to support our customers from NSWC Dahlgren.You will be part of our growing software team designing, developing, and testing a vast array of systems. You must be eager to solve complex challenges, work in a fast-passed environment, and mentor junior engineers. Apply your skills to the latest DoD weapon and sensor systems, modernizing the navy and ensuring mission success. Engineers will research, develop capabilities and eliminate vulnerabilities for a variety of software components and document results.Successful candidates will possess excellent communication skills as the position requires direct interaction with customer and engineer personnel of varying technical levels across different functions. The ability to take direction and operate independently as well as participate in team environments are necessary for this support effort. We are looking for an Oracle Developer to assist our customer in developing a more secure, reliable database infrastructure. This includes but is not limited to:
Install, Secure, Tune, Patch, STIG, Monitor, and Support NextGen Oracle 19c Environments (Prod, Stage, and Dev/USTARS)
Back-up and migrate Pluggable Databases between USTARS and the DECC in support of Data and Application Migrations
Create, maintain and upload Operational Documentation as required.
Monitor application connectivity and performance.
Monitor and maintain database logs.
Write SQL and PL/SQL reports and assist with legacy PL/SQL application changes and migrations as required.
Review weekly IDE 3.1 and NextGen scans. Prepare mitigation plan for database findings.
Experience on both Linux and Windows preferred.
Experience supporting PL/SQL web-based applications
While conducting normal operations this position will be onsite, however to assist in the COVID-19 mitigation effort we are offering telework/telecommuting. This is subject to change as we continue to monitor and adapt to the situation.Minimum Requirements
MUST HAVE Bachelors of Science in {Computer Science; Computer Engineering; Mathematics; Physics; Electrical Engineering}
Must have Experience with C/C or Java and SQL
Must have five to seven (5 - 7) years general software development experience.
Must have at least one (1) year of experience in the Agile (or Agile Hybrid) SDLC.
Preferred Qualifications
Have at least fifteen (15) years development experience in DoD or DON weapon systems
General Experience with System Architecture Design, System Documentation, Model Based System Engineering OR Experience with system integration of various “third party” SW/HW products or systems
