DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The Global Electrical Engineer will work in theprocess development and machine build team for Tenneco Powertrain bearingsgroup based at the Blacksburg, Virginia facility.Engineer will be responsible to lead the designand development of control systems for new equipment and automation projects. Engineer will develop PLC, HMI applications& interfaces, in addition will troubleshoot and resolve issues duringcommissioning and make recommendations that will improve efficiency and qualityof existing equipment.Specific Duties:

Responsible

for the design of electrical control systems including selection of hardware,programming and providing technical support during electrical system build andmachine commissioning.

Participates

in design reviews with project teams to determine electrical requirements of newequipment developments.

Ability

to develop PLC and HMI applications to meet specifications.

Develops

Electrical schematics and layouts.

Develops

Electrical Bill of Materials.

Participates

in set-up and commissioning of new equipment and upgrades of existing globalequipment.

Participates

in equipment risk assessment.

Understanding

of standards and code compliance (CE, UL, NFPA)

Responsible

for preparing electrical system documentation, effectively managing changes andcommunication of updates to the global plants.

Identify

and develop project specifications and manage implementation within projectbudgets.

Provide

technical coaching, development and training of control electricians.

Maintains

awareness of new control equipment for availability and potential applications

Ensures

that new processes meet capability and customer requirements.

Contributes

to department thinking in development of new technology.

Provides

training and work instructions on new equipment and process changes.

Able to

work with minimum supervision, well organized, willing to take initiative &keep abreast of rapidly changing advances in technology.REQUIREMENTS:Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

Skills and Experience:

Minimum of three years of experience commissioning

and troubleshooting machine/process controls in manufacturing/automationindustry.

Working

knowledge of E-Plan electrical design software preferred,

Siemens

S7 classic and TIA portal programming experience preferred

Siemens

Simotion motion control programming experience preferred.

Ability

to design and troubleshoot various communication networks (profibus, profinet)

SISTEMA,

Safe Expert, LabVIEW experience preferred is a plus

Programming

experience of industrial robots (Fanuc, Yaskawa) is a plus.

Moderate
