What you’ll be doing Corporate Security’s Verizon Security Assistance Team (VSAT) is responsible for various security efforts throughout Verizon. Within VSAT the Clearance Processing Team (CPT) is primarily responsible for maintaining NISP compliance. The Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) will support classified programs for Verizon’s various cleared companies. The AFSO will support the development and administration of security programs and procedures for classified or proprietary materials. Additionally the AFSO will assist with other VSAT functions that include answering incoming calls (ACD), logging legal requests within VSAT’s internal case management system, responding to court orders and search warrants and other lawful demands for company records originating from federal, state and local authorities.

Manage cleared personnel and physical security programs within a given USG accredited facility.

Perform briefings, debriefings and required security training.

Maintain Facility Clearance, conduct self-inspections and prepare for DSS Security Assessments.

Maintain personnel files, security documentation

Prepares and maintains government specified visit authorization letters (VARs).

Coordinate company Insider Threat Program efforts

Review and generate DD Form 254s and provide guidance of flow down security requirements.

Maintain COMSEC Accountability (This includes the preparation for Government audits, Semiannual Reporting, and Continuity of Operations).

Retrieve company records (IP, subscriber, billing and other) to comply with legal process.

Provide technical assistance to the law enforcement community by interfacing with a multitude of different internal organizations.

Maintain CALEA compliance by configuring/maintaining lawfully authorized electronic surveillance request.

Respond to out of hours life threatening and emergency situations, provide 24x7x365 availability.

What we’re looking for You’ll need to have:

Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.

Four or more years of relevant work experience

Four or more years of experience as AFSO or FSO.

Active government issued security clearance, or eligibility to apply for, obtain and maintain government issued security clearance.

Knowledge of NISPOM.

Experience administering JPAS, DISS, NISS, SWFT, e-QIP and OBMS/EMASS

Experience maintaining personnel files.

Knowledge of VoIP and IP based services.

Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have:

Bachelor’s degree.

ISP, ISOC or other industrial security certification.

Experience working with industrial security program management software (SIMS or Mathcraft)

Good working knowledge of Verizon's legacy and current operational support systems/applications

Outside/inside plant experience or knowledge.

Experience working with information management systems : expressWeb, STORC, Datashare, BOSS, NTAG, ICRIS, SOP,OCIS, IXPLUS, Intrada-Pro, COMS, OARS, VZB Central, CDCT, IP Manager, iVAPP, BAAIS or MARS.

Experience working in a 24x7x365 Network Operations Center including working in a shift work environment.

Strong computer skills, including working knowledge of Windows, Excel, Word and Adobe PDF files.

Strong verbal and written communication skills and customer service problem resolution skills.

Analytical and organizational skills with the ability to analyze a situation and determine the appropriate resolution.

Independent decision making skills with strong accountability for results, including meeting commitment dates.

Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a dynamic fast paced environment while multitasking.

Knowledge of the corporate structure, the Code of Business Conduct and ability for strict adherence to confidentiality.
