The Vice President, Business Development will focus on the customer acquisition, lead generation, and prospect management for United Way Worldwide’s suite of corporate services, including Salesforce Philanthropy Cloud. The role will be responsible to research client business referrals, network, and web leads; provide prospective customers/clients with all services offered and additional presentations as needed, and work with clients to create solutions for their needs and consult throughout the sales process. Must be energetic, well-spoken, and eager to close sales and increase revenue.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF POSITION

An individual must be able to perform each essential duty listed below at a satisfactory level:

  • Management of a global sales team who is responsible for identifying, qualifying, and securing business opportunities; coordinating business generation activities; developing customized targeted sales strategies

  • Management of local channel partner resellers who are part of the United Way network.
  • Management of the business development relationship with Salesforce specifically with Salesforce Philanthropy Cloud.
  • Building business relationships with current and potential clients
  • Understanding client needs and offering solutions and support; answering potential client questions and follow-up call questions; responding to client requests for proposals (RFPs)
  • Collaborating with sales and leadership to secure, retain, and grow accounts
  • Creating informative presentations and product demonstrations; presenting and delivering information to potential clients at client meetings, industry exhibits, trade shows, and conferences
  • Creating and maintaining a list/database of prospect clients; maintaining a Salesforce CRM database of prospective client information
  • Leading cultivation activities from lead generation to close by working with the client process
  • Meeting all quotas for cold, active, inactive calls, appointments, and interviews; meeting or exceeding annual sales goals
  • Maintaining a pipeline of all sales administration using Salesforce CRM software
  • Reporting to senior leadership and other parties on progressive sales metrics
  • Collaborating with management on sales goals, planning, and forecasting; maintaining short- and long-term business development plans
  • Other duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum requirements include:

  • Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience in business, marketing or related field.

  • Proven experience selling professional services bundled within a technology platform
  • Proven results in business development, particularly with software and services sales
  • Experience running regional and global sales teams
  • Experience with lead generation and prospect management using Salesforce CRM
  • Experience managing or working with channel resellers is optional but recommended
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; the ability to call, connect, and interact with potential customers
  • Persuasive and goal-oriented
  • Possesses an energetic, outgoing, and friendly demeanor
  • Able to professionally and confidently communicate with C-Level Executives
  • Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty.
  • Excellent analytical and time-management skills
  • Demonstrated and proven sales results
  • Ability to work independently or as an active member of a team
