Second Assistant Superintendent - Stowe Country Club

Vermont, Stowe 00000 Stowe USA

Vacancy caducado!

Description:

Stowe Country Club is an 18 hole semi-private resort course located in the lower village of beautiful Stowe, Vermont. Originally constructed as a 9 hole property in 1950 on an old dairy farm, the course expanded to 18 holes in 1961 under the architecture plan of William Mitchell, a prominent New England golf course architect at the time. The greens are native-push up consisting of predominately bentgrass/poa with tees and fairways that are a mixture of bentgrass/bluegrass/fescue. There are large areas of no-mow fescue throughout the property as well. The course is open from May to late October but receives high amounts of play June thru September. Stowe Country Club shares resources and equipment with its sister course, the Club at Spruce Peak, which is located 7 miles up Mountain Road right beside Stowe Mountain Resort. The two golf courses differ drastically in terms of play and feel but together they provide members and tourists with an opportunity to experience 36 holes of remarkable golf in the shadows of the Green Mountains. Both courses are operated, along with the Lodge at Spruce Peak, by Hyatt Hotels.Stowe Country Club is in the midst of a dramatic revitalization. In the past decade there have been major in-house infrastructure improvements made including: a renovated practice facility complete with 2 practice greens and over an acre of practice tee surfaces, extensive fairway drainage, reshaping and drainage to bunkers, cart path installations, new tee installations and renovations, XGD drainage added to two greens, extensive tree removal, and the creation of native fescue areas. These course improvements will continue over the next several years and this will be a great opportunity to expand project and restoration knowledge with a wide variety of course improvement initiatives. The drastic improvements to SCC have not gone unnoticed as the course has hosted numerous VTPGA and VGA (Vermont Golf Association) tournaments in the last few years including: 2017 and 2018 VTPGA Stroke Play Championship, 2019 VGA Senior Amateur, and will be host to the 2020 Vermont Amateur. The ideal candidate will need to be a highly motivated, self-starter with a strong attention to detail.
