Front of House Supervisor needed at Killington/Pico Ski Resort to oversee and supervise daily operations in Preston's Restaurant, located at the Killington Grand Hotel.

Verify all shift opening and closing tasks are completed in a timely fashion. Correct and maintain check accuracy for servers and/or guests. Verify accurate register banks. Plan and supervise table, service and bus station set up. Greet all guests, and assist in seating when needed. Maintain fair guest distribution ensuring staff are kept evenly busy, without overburdening anyone. See that special requests are communicated and completed. Graciously handle any issues or complaints. Perform cashier duties: operate cash register, taking payment and returning correct change; cash out at end of shift and properly use manager card functions. Review and arrange for special set-ups for large parties. Maintain and order beer/wine/liquor inventories, as well as paper, linen and uniform inventories. Administer and adhere to all Vermont DLC standards and expectations. Oversee and maintain adequate small wares, bar ware, and table service items. Plan, assign, check, and evaluate work of the dining room staff, including wait, host, support, and bar staff. Maintain proper staffing service levels by interviewing, hiring, and assuring proper training of all staff. Maintain developmental training as well to ensure smooth succession of talent and knowledge. Build weekly schedule for all shifts of restaurant service. Own schedule should cover all day parts during the week to ensure proper visibility of and from staff. Assist Executive Chef in menu development, and develop beer/wine/liquor menus with bar staff. Monitor and evaluate quality of service and food. Oversee equipment and physical setting cleanliness, organization, and maintenance. Assist with all aspects of service needed, maintaining and exceeding Killington Resort's Hospitality standards by all staff. Inspect and audit dining room facility regularly. Review and assess staff performance from day-to-day to annual reviews. Utilize proper motivational and disciplinary actions as needed. Meet daily with team to plan and review service, coordinate and evaluate activities, communicate information, resolve problems, and empower decision making. Run and document weekly staff meetings. Participate regularly in a variety of management, staff, and committee meetings. Work with Banquet staff, and facilitate Banquet Event Orders in Restaurant or in Banquet rooms as needed. Perform other tasks as assigned by Hotel F&B Manager or Resort Hospitality Director. Daily communication, supervision, and feedback with AM and PM leads and team. Direct and indirect supervision of wait staff, bar staff and all support staff. Supervision is received from the Grand Hotel F&B Manager and Killington Resort Director of Hospitality. Basic education (high school), plus two to three years of relevant restaurant or other food service experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired. Good basic knowledge of dining room and bar operations, including food safety, waiting on tables, hosting, bartending, and cashiering. Vermont DLC Certification and ServSafe Food Safety Certification required and provided if needed. Good basic administrative and math skills; some supervisory and restaurant operations management experience desirable. Solid computer skills with Outlook, Excel and Word programs. Ability to deal with customers and staff in a courteous and efficient manner as well as intoxicated customers. Neat appearance and pleasant personality. Work schedule will vary to include days, nights, holidays, and weekends.
