The Karr Group is an event-based hospitality company that leads multiple, high-energy restaurants, bars and nightclubs in the resort town of Killington, Vermont. Properties include the Pickle Barrel Nightclub, JAX Food & Games, The Foundry at Summit Pond, Mad Hatter's Scoops, and most recently, Charity’s 1887 Saloon.

We are seeking a qualified Line and Prep Cook to join our dynamic team of culinary professionals!

YOUR DUTIES:

- Control and direct food preparation process and any other related activities

- Act as a natural leader who is in tune with the current culinary trends

- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary work environment

- Prepare, plan and evaluate the conceptualization of menu items

- Have world-class knowledge of correct cooking temperatures, food construction (i.e. sandwich creation), and cooking appliance knowledge

- Thrive in a fast-paced environment

- Report to the Sous Chef and Executive Chef

- Collaborate with sous chef on menu specials, including following and teaching recipes and portion specifications

- Initiate leadership

- Organization and cleanliness are high priorities

The work environment is loud and busy. There are many hazards to manage, including hot surfaces, hot liquids, slippery floors, sharp knives and objects, and busy movement of multiple staff members. The position also requires physical demands such as standing for extended periods of time, bending, squatting, and lifting heavy objects.

The position regularly requires long hours, weekend, and holiday work.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

- You possess at least an associates degree with major concentration in food preparation, management, nutrition or related field.

- You have three years minimum of forward-thinking experience in high volume food production or equivalent combination of relevant education or experience.
