We are a non-profit running a donation-based café, thrift store, and Post Office in a historic building. We have a rotating art display in the store, and feature a weekly Farmers Market and Wood-Fired Pizza night. This eclectic building is searching for an engaging, courteous person who is passionate about food and beverage preparation. The Cook/Cashier will greet customers, answer questions, take orders, accept payments, prepare, and serve food along with drinks. You will also maintain a clean and well-stocked work and dining area, attend displays, and increase your knowledge of quality controls, preparation methods, and presentation.
To succeed in our Café, you should be committed to providing customers with excellent service along with being positive, friendly, knowledgeable, and polite.
Cafe Responsibilities:
Welcoming customers, informing them about specials or new items, answering questions, and accepting orders and payments.
Preparing drinks and bringing drinks and food to the guest.
Packaging food and beverages for sale.
Refilling coffee and tea
Cleaning and restocking work and dining areas, emptying trash, and sanitizing equipment and utensils.
Learning about our locally-focused food mentality and how to make food specials utilizing them
Updating signage and displays to attract customers.
Taking inventory and replenishing items in the customer area.
Working as part of a fun, high-energy team in a very eclectic workspace.
Adhering to all food safety regulations and quality controls.
Participating in our Friday Night Pizza Nights
Baking skills are a plus. We prepare our own muffins, biscuits, and cookies.
We have Takeout Tuesday every week, allowing for menu creativity.
Job Type: Flexible part or full-time. Weekends and some Holidays required.
