Leads and/or participates in the design, development, and implementation of complex system engineering activities involving cross-functional technical support, systems programming and data center capabilities. Responsible for components of highly complex engineering and/or analytical tasks and activities. Viewed as a technology subject matter expert; able to provide and communicate complex technology solutions across differing audiences including technical, managerial, business executives, and/or vendors.RequirementsLicense/Certification/Education: Normally requires a B.S. Degree in Computer Science with 10 years of experience in related field.
Senior level experience Primarily with Red Hat / SUSE Linux
Experience with SAP HANA SUSE configurations is highly desirable
Experience with HANA clustering and Dynamic Tiering is a plus
Ability to Recommend, design, develop, and implement software and hardware solutions
Provide Operating System technical and break/fix level support
Shell scripting and automation skills (Ansible preferred)
Expertise with GPFS is a plus
Familiarity with various Server models and management Consoles.
Responsible for firmware upgrades
Experience in Linux administration on RHEL6, RHEL7, SLES 12, VMware, ESX
Ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to a constantly changing environment
Ability to debug and troubleshoot network, performance and software issues
Knowledge of SAN based disk solutions and their configurations
Ability to work independently but also must be strong in team partnership
Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organization skills
Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline or equivalent educational and/or work experience
1 O+ years of related systems engineering experience
Minimum 7-10 years of Unix- Linux OS experience
AIX / Linux Shell scripting experience
Strong team player with a high degree of self-motivation
Professional communication I presentation skills for management briefings
Preferred Certifications:
Red Hat / SUSE Certification
Ansible / AWS
Previous experience working in a large environment
