Girlington Garage is a 9 year young, successful, very busy independent automotive repair shop with a large loyal customer base in the Burlington area. We are a woman-owned small business, dedicated to providing the very best service to all our customers.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced people manager who can work closely with the owner, employees and customers to continue our success and deepen the values of the company on a full time basis. A regular part of your job will include front-end service writer duties, and as such we need someone who is a reliable, self motivated person that pays attention to detail. You must have the skill to be able to take care of personnel and customer challenges and still remain friendly and kind. You must be able to communicate clearly and directly under even the most stressful situations.
Responsibilities:
general oversight of the shop; ability to prioritize duties and job requirements
running the shop on a regular schedule when owner is not present
hiring, training, motivating, counseling and monitoring the performance of all staff including technicians,
interns and other employees
working with technicians and interns to insure and sustain a satisfying work environment
working to improve retention of technicians and other employees
scheduling and conducting meetings with employees as needed
serving as a liaison between technicians and customers
maintaining good working relationships with suppliers and negotiating pricing for parts, stocking inventory,
materials and equipment
ensuring that work areas and customer waiting area are kept clean
Requirements:
demonstrated ability to manage others
ability to clearly explain all repair and service work to the customer and answer any customer inquiries
strong communication skills to deal with customers, employees and vendors
organized and friendly personality
valid driver's license

Pay for this position will be based on your qualifications, as well as your on-the-job experience as a manager
