Job Description:
The SEASONAL Tax Associate will handle the preparation and filing of taxes for self-employed individuals as well as small companies. We are a bookkeeping and tax firm that specializes in the transportation industry. We are seeking a qualified candidate that is results driven and can work towards achieving team goals. This individual must be able to handle communicating with clients over the phone, via email and in person. The Tax Associate will communicate daily with clients regarding taxes, profit and loss statements, and other business topics as needed.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and file tax returns. Including but not limited to 1040, 1065, 1120 and 1120S.
Must have the ability to explain to the client the results of their tax return and have a working knowledge of TCJA.
Call out to clients and review their monthly profit and loss statement with them to ensure all business revenues and expenses are accounted for.
Job Preferences and Requirements:
Active PTIN required
3 years prior tax preparation experience in a professional setting preferred
o 1 year prior tax preparation required
Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, CRM)
Experience with ProSeries tax software strongly preferred
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure, fast paced environment.
The majority of our returns are for self- employed individuals. Experience in S-Corp and Partnership tax preparation is required

Compensation Package
Hourly Rate DOE
Start of this seasonal position is approximately January 7, 2019
This is a season position with the possibility to be hired full time after the tax season ends
