Configuration Management Software EngineerLocation: Hill AFB, UTClearance: SecretPosition SummaryThe Software Configuration Management Specialist will support multiple weapons systems. The CME Specialists will monitor hardware firmware software and documentation and data and will ensure that Configuration Management disciplines are being followed.Duties and Responsibilities

Manage the core Configuration Management principles of identification control status accounting reviews and audits release and product quality;

Control the change process to incorporate only approved and validated changes into product baselines for both documentation and source code;

Train and support software developers and engineers on change requests and documentation reviews source code control build automation and merge resolution;

Develop and maintain Technical Configuration and Configuration Data Management Plans and Data Packages;

Maintain configuration over multi weapon system test environments to include software hardware and firmware;

Integration of CM tools with the agile processes and build/deployment tools to create and support the agile operations and automated builds and deployment;

Create and maintain configuration management related policy processes and procedures;

Measure/monitor progress to ensure releases are delivered on time and meet or exceed expectations;

Manage risks and resolve issues that affect release scope schedule and quality;

Define implement and improve the source code integration/release management process;

Research new tools and technologies to meet both new business requirements and evolving technical requirements such as automated software development DevOps integration automated deployment;

Work with build engineers to understand impact of branches and code merges.

Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and provide a basic understanding of CM principles and procedures;

Ability to deliver quality audit metrics upon request;

Knowledge of multiple software development lifecycles such as Waterfall and Agile/Scrum methodologies;

Knowledge of and access to the most current SAE EIA-649 and SAE EIA-649-1 National Consensus Standards for Configuration Management;

Knowledge of source code control management systems and code branching/merging strategies and merge resolution;

Education and Experience

3 or more years of directly related experience;

Bachelor’s degree

SAE EIA-649 and SEA EIA-649-1 National Consensus Standards for Configuration Management training;

Skills and Certifications

Strong computer skills including MS Word Excel Project and PowerPoint required;

Must be able to operate independently but also in a team environment and share information with others;

Must show initiative and have the ability to work on multiple tasks with changing deadlines and priorities in and environment with frequent interruptions;

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal as well as strong interpersonal skills professional demeanor and flexibility are required; the ability to establish a solid working relationship with customers technical staff managers and peers and various Government and contractor personnel;

Must be highly motivated and have excellent problem-solving skills.
