Title: Principal Piping DesignerLocation: USA-Texas-TylerJob Overview:We are looking for a Principal Piping Designer for the McDermott location in Tyler, TX. The ideal candidate will be responsible for all matters pertaining to utilization of the design system for the production of complex piping design deliverables. Generates conceptual piping layouts. Maintains plot plans and equipment arrangement forms, develops plot layouts provided from estimated package. Generates piping bulk take-offs for piping materials.Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Reviews piping design deliverables before issuing to piping design lead.
Is able to communicate complex technical solutions and concepts to other designers.
Assists with training other designers by providing instruction on new technologies and/or a specialization.
Typically assigned as piping design lead on assigned projects.
Maintains and promotes a focus on McDermott's end product for engineering, fabrication or construction.
Ensures effective communications among other disciplines and effective management of change.
Assumes responsibility for cost, schedule, quantities and budget control.
Basic Qualifications:
Must have ACAD or Microstation and PDS or SP3D proficient
Heavy piping design
Experience with unit expansions, field support and laser scanning.
Desired/Preferred Qualifications:
Associates Degree Preferred
20 years of experience preferred
