At an intermediate level, reviews and processes on-site sewage facility (OSSF or septic systems) applications for new systems or modified septic systems, septic system re-inspection applications and responds to permitting process customer inquiries over the phone, by email and in person. This position utilizes knowledge and experience in own discipline but is still building higher-level knowledge and skills. Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction from supervisor, manager and/or more experienced colleagues.

Accepts, reviews and processes application payments and supplemental documentation related to permitting, construction and functionality of OSSFs in accordance with TCEQ and LCRA regulations. In addition to processing payments, incumbent(s) also makes deposits in accordance with LCRA policies.

Maintains information and data through various software programs, spreadsheets and databases.

Responds to questions from the public and other LCRA departments regarding OSSF matters. This involves conducting research and ensuring files are in compliance with required permit and fee schedules, and when applicable, seeks the direction of technical staff.

Performs analyses and research in support of business operations. Responds to requests for information concerning department operations and/or refers requests to appropriate staff members.

As necessary, supports departmental staff regarding field operations, travel arrangements, transportation, hotel arrangements, coordinating and scheduling external and internal meetings, training activities, seminars, etc.

Verifies accuracy and completeness of permitting/re-inspection applications, identifies discrepancies, resolves issues and determines appropriate course of action according to established procedures of department generated work as well as work performed by vendors.

Responds to open records requests in accordance with LCRA policies.

Supports OSSF field operations as needed by coordinating daily inspections and communicating with inspectors on specific information they require while in the field.

Conducts field ride-along inspections to maintain understanding of septic system components and how they function.

Two or more years of experience in customer service, clerical, administrative support and records management experience.

Driver's license, if traveling independently to various locations

One or more years of experience in on-site sewage facility administration or regulatory program.
