The first is a centralized enterprise program that provides four extensive training sessions and coaching to build your analytical and interpersonal skills.

The second is a line of business-specific program offered by the Commercial Banking team in two-stages. The Commercial Banking program’s focus is on credit underwriting skills, as well as, career development and enrichment activities. Our goal is to provide you the knowledge and skills to successfully develop and manage our client relationships.

Your opportunity in Commercial BankingWells Fargo Commercial Banking delivers a comprehensive suite of products and industry expertise to serve the diverse financial needs of companies with annual sales typically ranging from $5 million to $2 billion. As a leader in serving commercial customers, Wells Fargo offers financial services including credit and treasury management solutions as well as specialized expertise across industries including Technology, Food, Beverage & Agribusiness, Investor Real Estate and Government.Commercial Banking Financial Analyst Program OverviewDevelopment Hub StageYou will begin your program in our Development Hub located in Charlotte, NC. During this six-month stage, you will participate in numerous credit learning activities and develop your credit underwriting skills through on-the-job credit report preparation. You will also engage in various career development and enrichment activities, such as volunteer events, conversations with senior leaders, discussions with product partners and team building events. Upon successful completion of this six-month stage, you will transition to a Commercial Banking Office (CBO).Offers can be for a specific CBO, specialized team, metropolitan area, or region of the country. The location of the CBO, in the case of a metropolitan or regional offer, will be determined prior to completion of the six-months in the Development Hub.Commercial Banking Office StageUpon your transition to a CBO, you will work alongside experienced Commercial Bankers to further deepen your knowledge and develop your analytical, underwriting, sales and relationship management skills by actively participating in your team’s day-to-day client and prospecting activities.Your Role as a Commercial Banking Financial Analyst

Analyze the strengths and weaknesses of a company’s business and management team

Conduct in-depth industry research to identify key drivers, challenges, and trends that are most relevant

Monitor and evaluate client financial and operational performance and how each may impact overall risk management and assessment

Partner with relationship managers to structure multi-million dollar credit transactions

Prepare credit underwriting memorandums, including recommendations, key risk factors, sources of repayment, cash flow modeling, leverage profile assessment and ability to service debt

Review legal documentation that outlines the terms and conditions of approved loans

Assess and understand client needs to effectively identify other Wells Fargo products and services that can help clients achieve their goals

Engage in creative thinking and idea generation to prepare discussion materials that focus on issues impacting the company and prepare relationship mangers for client or prospect dialogue

Participate in client meetings, due diligence visits and other client interactions to gain exposure to company management teams and their interactions with senior bankers

YOUR NEXT STEPFinancial analysts who successfully complete the program are on their way to a long-term career. The program is ideal for preparing you for a client-facing role, for example Relationship Manager, in which you will manage client relationships by working with a client’s business principals to understand their short- and long-term needs and to structure the financing and banking products that help them achieve their goals.Required Qualifications:

6 months of experience in one or a combination of the following: financial analysis, credit analysis, statistical analysis, or statement spreading; or BS/BA degree or higher granted prior to hire date

Desired Qualifications:

Intermediate Microsoft Office skills

Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

High level of initiative and accountability

Effective organizational, multi tasking, and prioritizing skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment

Solid problem solving and decision making skills

Military experience in personnel benefits management, processing military personnel orders or transitions, wartime readiness operations, human resources or military recruiting

Military intelligence or analytics experience including operational management, project management, mission evolution management and finance management

Experience working with military protocol and instructions, enlisted evaluations, officer/leadership reporting, and assistance with keeping military personnel combat-ready and effective

Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
