And we apply the characteristics that define leadership excellence in how we engage each other, collaborate with our teams, and drive the business.DescriptionThe Energy Analyst is responsible for key analyses and presentations to assist the Chief Economist's office in developing the long-term strategic view of the energy industry to be used by executive management in assessing business plans.Your responsibilities may include:
Developing energy supply and demand and price outlooks for a segment of the market
Capturing, prioritizing and analyzing energy market data
Building spreadsheet models
Monitoring trends
Developing power point presentations for the Chief Economist's Office to use externally and/or with Executive Management
Providing consultation to strategy and project teams on the business environment
Supporting Communications and Government Affairs in explaining industry trends to external stakeholders
Qualifications:Basic/Required:
Legally authorized to work in the United States
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Economics, Finance, Business or other technical discipline or foreign equivalent
3 years of experience in energy market or economic analysis
3 years of experience working in an analytical role demonstrating strong analytical and problem solving skills
1 years of experience composing and developing polished, professional quality PowerPoint presentations for senior management to use and/or review
1 years of experience building data models
Proficient (able to perform the skill with no assistance) in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Preferred:
Master’s degree or higher in a quantitative discipline
3 years of experience applying economic principles to markets or business opportunities and value propositions
3 years of experience working in project economics or quantitative analysis
Working knowledge of R, VBA or other programming languages
1 years of experience in at least one of the following:
Commercial or trading function
Physical infrastructure or shipping, and how commodities actually move from production to end-use
Project economics
Forecasting energy supply, production and demand
Forecasting energy prices
Developing and testing complex statistical or mathematical models of market dynamics
Self-starter who takes initiative
Analyzes issues and understands their business impact
Understands how key financial and quantitative indicators impact business Understands global trends and how they impact business
Transmits information so it is received and understood in the way it was intended
