Dallas Manufacturing Company, a division of Central Garden & Pet that manufacturers and distributes pet beds to major retailers, is searching for a Production Worker for our Athens, TX facility. Must be a self-starter, operate with integrity, and be able to work unsupervised for long periods of time. This position will assist in the production of pet beds and visually inspect all products to meet quality standards. MEASURES OF SUCCESS:
Set up and operate machinery in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
Packaging, assembling, lifting and moving materials according to company specifications.
May operate multiple machines.
Must have the ability to analyze problem(s), trouble shoot and provide successful solutions.
Ensures all products are produced and/or packaged according to established quality standards.
Maintains work area in a clean and orderly fashion.
Complies with all safety rules and company policies.
Understands and supports the goals and objectives of the department.
Assists with training new and existing personnel and backups.
Maintain clear communication with coworkers and supervisors.
Other duties as assigned.
IDEAL CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES:
Must be willing to learn and understand machine operating and safety procedures
Must be willing to use/wear safety equipment provided by the company when necessary
Must be able to stand 8 to 10 hours per day
Must be able to do simple math- adding and subtracting
Must be able to understand and follow directions in written, oral, and diagram form
Must be willing to work in other areas and departments when needed
High attention to detail
Must be able to balance multiple priorities
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Plant environment- non climate controlled.
Have the ability to lift up to 50 pound with or without accommodation.
Noise level in the work environment varies with specific areas requiring hearing protection.
