OverviewThe Salesforce.com (“SFDC”) Platform Director will be an integral part of the Enterprise Business Applications leadership team. Primary responsibilities include: managing and guiding the SFDC Administration team, translating business requirements into scalable SFDC solutions, developing and implementing best practices, and implementing Agile delivery practices.This role will have a direct impact on the most critical functions of the company, including: Sales, Customer Success, Support and Marketing. Primary ResponsibilitiesCommunicate
  • Facilitate working sessions with business users, technical resources, and process experts
  • Serve as primary point of contact for executive escalations and communications
  • Engage with executive-level audiences, creating presentation materials with emphasis on simplifying complex ideas into digestible presentations consumable by non-technical staff
Design and Plan
  • Provide Salesforce platform thought leadership across our multi-org / multi-cloud environment (e.g., Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Community Cloud)
  • Help to shape system architecture landscape, identifying gaps between current and desired end-states, and delivering comprehensive solutions that will enable achievement of the desired business outcomes
  • Build POCs or prototype solutions by conducting hands-on development, configuration, or system setup
  • For acquisition targets, perform analysis and gap assessment and recommend technical integration designs
  • Construct and communicate clear and concise planning documents
Deliver
  • Manage and align business stakeholders, establishing and controlling scope, setting project schedules, identifying, reporting, and mitigating risks
  • Create and maintain appropriate governance structures
  • Drive the vision and roadmap for the key back-end systems that run the business
Lead, Develop, and Mentor
  • Disseminate best practices on solutions / implementation and mentor junior team members in Salesforce best practices
  • Follow and understand new Salesforce product and technical capabilities resulting from product releases and acquisitions
  • Effectively manage the key operational elements of the organization, including but not limited to: strategic planning and execution, resource planning and team meetings
  • Build and maintain relationships with peers inside and outside the organization to ensure strong cross-functional collaboration and connection with the CIO and broader IT organization
  • Build and maintain allocation and capacity plan, while building redundancy in team and individual career growth plans
Flex and Adapt
  • Effectively deal with ambiguity by confidently walking through an undefined situation and drawing out key requirements and organizational constraints
  • Work effectively in a fast paced, fluid environment while building scale and re-usability in the enterprise
  • Balance immediacy of need with scalability and supportability of solutions

Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business, or relevant professional experience
  • 10+ years of progressive work experience
  • 5-7+ years of configuration and management in large Salesforce.com environment
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, experienced and comfortable engaging at the tactical and executive level
  • Experience implementing and/or operating in an Agile development methodology
  • Ability to manage team members in remote locations and time zones
