YesJob SummaryPerform advanced accounting work as related to travel/expense reimbursements, non-purchase order and purchase order payments. Responsible for applying accounting practices and controls to a variety of financial transactions. Must communicate effectively and professionally with employees at all levels of the organization and from diverse backgrounds.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesReview and validate vendor payment vouchers for accuracy, using the purchase order or contract for validation. Create purchase order vouchers for orders ≥ $15,000. Review travel and non-travel expense reports for compliance with established procedures. Review and approve front-office created vouchers. Work with campus staff on errors/issues related to vendor payments and travel/expense. Work with front-office to ensure ProCard vouchers are processed and paid at the end of each month. Assist vendors with information on payment status or problems. Ability to comprehend and apply policies and procedures, with constructive communication, to all customer. Know and follow all federal, state, UT System, and UTA laws, rules, policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assignedRequired QualificationsHigh school graduate or equivalent experience. Four (4) years of experience in government or commercial accounting. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, customer service skills, and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with employees at all levels of the organization and from diverse backgrounds. Ability to comprehend and apply policies and procedures with constructive communication.
