Software Engineer / Tools Developer
Our client, an innovative facial recognition technology and mobile app-development firm is looking for a Tools Developer to join their TechOps team in San Juan, PR.
As a Developer in the tools team, you will be responsible for leading projects related to supporting continuous deployment their applications. These projects will touch on all aspects of the development lifecycle, from building and testing through deployment to production, for an exciting range of products and technologies. You'll collaborate with Software Development and Quality Engineering teams to evolve how we deliver our current set of applications and consult on how to deliver new applications as they come online.
Responsibilities
Design and implement portions of a continuous integration and deployment pipeline
Implement development tools as needed using Python, JavaScript, and Java.
Participate in team design, specification, and code reviews
Identify opportunities for adopting new tools and techniques from the wider industry
Identify and document the detailed requirements for delivering web applications
Apply appropriate analysis and modeling techniques to understand the context and scope of the business processes/functions and the supporting information systems
Primary Qualifications Basic Qualifications Required
Excellent English language written and verbal communication skills to facilitate efficient and effective interaction with peers and customers
Confidence to initiate, drive, and manage companyÂwide conference calls
Effective organizational skills to maintain a consistently high standard of operations in a busy environment
Working knowledge of C
Experience with Node.js/Python
Experience with automated deployment tools
Ability to work independently on a complex and ambitious project
Highly desirable
Development skills with Java (Android) or ObjectiveÂC (iOS) is a plus
Familiarity with AWS
Experience with containerization technology such as Docker
Experience in Agile/Scrum or related collaborative workflow

Experience driving collaborative projects from conception to delivery
The ability to maintain a high level of alertness and attention to detail for extended periods
Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure
