Position: Construction Superintendent
Job Description: This position is for a full-time construction professional that will properly represent the company as the on-site project supervisor for projects throughout the south east. As an installer of linear drains, the position requires knowledge of excavation, concrete work, drain installation, demolition, reinforcing, formwork installation, and general construction practices.
The foreman is responsible for gathering necessary tools and supplies, reading plans, laying out the work, providing for and ensuring that the work is done in a safe manner, supervising the construction to ensure all aspects of the work are done according to plans and specifications, and ensuring that the project is completed on time and within budget. It is important to our company that the supervisor acts ethically, upholds high quality standards, and is highly competent. The supervisor is the direct link between the customer and has a direct impact on the reputation of the company as a competent and upstanding contractor.
This position requires that each task in the construction sequence is fully understood by the supervisor. The supervisor is responsible for training the workers in their tasks and instructing them on a continual basis to achieve the desired outcome. The Supervisor often has the responsibility of operating equipment and performing all work tasks required, but primarily, ensures that others are performing their duties. The Supervisor is responsible for planning to minimize down time. Planning includes ensuring that materials, equipment, tools, etc. are on the job site for the crews to perform the tasks set out for the day. Daily job status reports, production reports, and expense reporting are requirements for this position.
Requirements:
1. Must have a valid driver’s license.
2. Must be bi-lingual (English and Spanish)
3. Must have a clean background and be able to pass a drug screen.
4. Must be dependable, prompt, and able to travel
5. Being on the construction site continuously to ensure that company standards are upheld
6. Work with other supervisors on the construction site to ensure that the work is not delayed or harmed in any way during the construction sequence.
7. Must have or be willing take and pass the OSHA 10-hour certification course.
8. Must be able to read plans and provide construction layout for crew.
9. Comprehending a general scope of work and dividing tasks among employees
10. Responsible for keeping track of company tools checked out to the job site.
11. Must have leadership ability and be able to schedule and assign work.
12. Train personnel and verify their qualifications before hiring them or allowing them to perform tasks
13. Focus employees on safety and ensuring that all workers adhere to company safety policy and exceed all OSHA safety regulations.
14. Ensure that the work is completed in good time and that the budget is met
15. Ensure that all reports, records, timesheets, and invoices are filled out, turned in, and approved by the proper authority
16. Ensure that all other company policies are followed
Skills:
1. Operating a truck and trailer (ie. Must have valid driver’s license and be able to pass a DOT physical)
2. Operating equipment such as skid steers, excavators, backhoes, forklifts, etc
3. Must be able to perform all necessary tasks associated with concrete work including, but not limited to concrete finishing, form setting, excavation, rebar, patching, cutting, demolition, etc.
4. Must have good communication skills
5. Must be able to read plans
6. Must be able to communicate in English.
Travel required: Employee will travel for periods of time from 2-6 weeks. In between projects the employees will have time off. While schedules need to be flexible, we try to maintain at least 1-week home for every 4-6 weeks on the road working.

Compensation:
Salary of $55,000 - 65,000 annually.

Travel expenses, per diem, and lodging are paid by company.
