Job Description

Here is your opportunity to join a high performing Engineering team who support new and existing capabilities for Defence's enterprise information systems.

As the technical lead, your focus will beto drive completion of deliverables, includingtechnical planning, system build, integration and verification and validation.

This is a fast paced environment in a collaborative teamwith mixed skillsets, where you'll be working with the Project Manager on project planning, implementation and integration activities.

You will tackle challenging, unique situations every day and work with other functions and employees within Leidos and its partners as well as our Defence customers. You will be able to provide assistance and guidance to fellow team members on making reliable technical solutions around supporting and deploying large-scale services and engineering systems that run some of our customer’s business critical systems.

Other key functions of the role include:

  • Guide the successful completion of specific major programs and projects, and function in a project leadership role.
  • Carry out multi-faceted systems engineering assignments requiring familiarity and expertise with a broad field of engineering and technical knowledge.
  • Create, participate in and take responsibility for project planning and estimating, status monitoring and reporting.
  • Participate in technical and program reviews at varying levels with management and customers, including review of subcontractor involvement.
  • Develop and revise technical specifications and documentation, including technology specific data models to support application needs.

About you

You are a highly effective communication with the ability to forge effective working relationships across all levels and influence key stakeholders. You have a strong ability to lead, and approach solutions in a practical and creative manner. Tertiary studies in IT wold be valued but not essential. You also have:

  • experience in integrating multi technology platforms
  • Defence industry experience would be highly desirable,
  • knowledge of any the following technical disciplines: Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft System Centre, Microsoft Windows Server, Citrix XenApp, VMware vSphere, NetApp storage, Cisco UCS, McAfee Security Suite, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Solaris, Red Hat Satellite, AWS, Azure, Google Kubernetes, Docker;
  • strong knowledge in VMware and Microsoft Server/management technologies is required;
  • must be familiar with a variety of concepts, practices and procedures related to Cloud technologies;
  • good knowledge of security as it relates to cloud-based infrastructure.
