Love Gardening? Become a Weeding Woman! (Nashville (mostly West))

Tennessee, Nashville 00000 Nashville USA

Vacancy caducado!

At The Weeding Woman LLC, we pull weeds and grow relationships with people and their gardens throughout Nashville. Hand-pulling weeds is our bread and butter work, and it is our entry point with every client relationship and garden. It is from this literal and figurative ground level that we get to know our clients and their gardens and then offer them a range of appropriate, horticulturally responsible garden care services. This work includes pruning, planting, mulching and design consultation but - first and foremost - weeding.

We are a company with a sterling reputation that values excellent customer service and quality work. We work in small teams that respect and enjoy one another and behave professionally. We are looking to cultivate new garden talent and grow our teams. Part time and full time positions are immediately available to qualified candidates. Hourly pay starts at $15 with opportunities for increases based on skill level, work performance, and time with the company. All employees who complete a trial hire period are qualified to receive tool and gear allowances, professional development allowances and annual paid time off.

A qualified candidate possesses the following essential traits:

a basic general knowledge of horticulture, including annuals, perennials, and edibles common in our region

physically able to lift 40 pounds

physically able to continually stand, stoop, squat and bend throughout the day

physically tolerant of a wide variety of weather conditions and outdoor situations (from extreme heat/cold, to rain to full sun to chiggers and poison ivy)

an eye for detail and an interest in garden/landscape aesthetics

comfortable with/willing to learn to operate light-duty, gas-powered equipment (string trimmers, hedge shears)

enjoys highly detailed, often repetitive work (like pulling weeds)

enjoys working in small teams, but is also comfortable working alone

possess a clean driving record, reliable transportation and is willing to travel to various locations throughout the Nashville area on a daily basis

is punctual, reliable and responsible, taking ownership and pride in their daily work

If you have these skills and you’d like to work at a company that will challenge you physically and professionally, one that will respect you and will help you grow to gardening greatness … and if making Nashville beautiful one garden at a time sounds like something you could really dig into, please reply, telling us more about yourself and your relevant experience.
